Mark your calendars for an extraordinary 3-day weekend as we reunite to celebrate the legacy of the Fair Park High School Marching Band and honor the everlasting influence of Mr. Cleveland White. Join us from October 25th to October 27th in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Band Motto:
D. P. O. means "We the members of the Fair Park High School band. Pledge to perform to the utmost of our abilities, achieve high goals & academic excellence, respect ourselves & others, honor our directors, & commit ourselves to DISCIPLINE, PRIDE & ORGANIZATION!!"

Mr. Cleveland R. White is a native of Minden, Louisiana. He is the youngest of three children. His bride of twenty-eight (28) years is Mrs. Gloriette Bryant White. He is blessed to have three (3) beautiful daughters: Shamell LaShae White, Courtney Raykell White-Ware, and Chelsea Jha’Mildriette White.

Mr. White is a 1969 Graduate of Webster High School in Minden, Louisiana. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from Grambling State University in 1973. He received a Master of Arts Degree in Music Education from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana in 1982. He obtained his Master’s Plus Thirty (30) and Certification in Secondary School Principalship from Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1999. Further study was accomplished at:

  • Vander-Cook Conservatory of Music Chicago, Illinois
  • Louisiana State University Shreveport, LA
  • Texas Tech University Lubbock, Texas
  • Northwestern State University Natchitoches, LA

Mr. White acquired Forty (40) years of service in the Caddo Parish Public School System. His experiences include:

  • 26 years as a successful Band Director at Fair Park High School.
  • 3 years as an Assistant Principal at Green Oaks Performing Arts Magnet High School.
  • 3.5 years as Principal at Green Oaks Performing Arts Magnet High School.
  • 0.5 year as Personnel Administrator for the Caddo Parish Public School System.
  • 7 years as Director of Human Resources/Classified Personnel for the Caddo Parish Public School System.

Personal Accomplishments:

  • Co-Director of the Shreveport Regional Jazz Ensemble.
  • Accomplished Music Arranger of Sacred and Secular Music.
  • 2012 Recipient of LAMM Award (Lifetime Achievement In Music Ministry) sponsored by New Arts Musique (December 8, 2012).
  • Special Guest Conductor of the GSU Alumni & Friends Concert Band for the

Grambling State University President’s Concert (April 20, 2016).

  • 2019 Recipient of the “ARK-LA-TEX Music Legends Award” sponsored by Extension of Excellence, Inc. (April 12, 2019).

Mr. White is a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where Reverend Dr. Joe R. Gant, Jr. is his Pastor. He realizes he is kept by GOD and is blessed continuously. He has touched many lives throughout his career. A True “Humanitarian” who has always implemented “DPO” (Discipline, Pride, and Organization) to his students, making sure they were equipped to live productive lives.
